Terms of Service

Welcome to Spectar. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Mach Super ("we", "us", or "our"), the registered business operating the Spectar web application. These Terms govern your access to and use of the Spectar web application, as hosted at the web domain 'spectar.app' ("the App", "Spectar"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

  1. 1. Description of Service

    Spectar is a digital reference tool that allows users to visually compare physical fasteners and hardware (such as threads, bearings, and gears) against algorithmically or statically generated silhouettes on their device screens. The App also provides a directory service connecting users with relevant local and online suppliers relevant to the hardware being compared.

  2. 2. No Warranty for Accuracy

    • Visual Reference Only: Spectar is designed as a highly accurate visual guide, but it is not a certified, calibrated measuring instrument.
    • User Verification: Hardware specifications identified through Spectar should be independently verified using standard calibrated tools (e.g., calipers, thread pitch gauges, micrometers) before being used in structural, automotive, aerospace, load-bearing, or other critical applications.
    • Liability: The App and its creators assume no liability for damages, injuries, or financial losses resulting from the misidentification of hardware, reliance on the App's visual matching tools, or the use of any technical information, reference materials, or calculators provided anywhere on the App.

  3. 4. Device Safety

    • Screen Damage: You are solely responsible for the safety of your device while using Spectar. Placing physical metal hardware against glass screens carries a risk of scratching or damage. Mach Super is not liable for any physical damage to your phone, tablet, or monitor. We recommend using a screen protector and applying minimal pressure, or holding the hardware just above the screen.
    • Calibration Accuracy: The accuracy of the silhouettes depends on the user correctly calibrating the screen zoom using a physical ruler. Mach Super is not responsible for inaccuracies caused by improper user calibration, even if the zoom level is set by the user with one of the presets provided.

  4. 5. Third-Party Suppliers and "Where to Buy"

    Spectar features links and listings for third-party e-commerce stores and local suppliers ("Partners").

    • No Endorsement of Inventory: While we strive to connect you with quality suppliers, Mach Super does not guarantee the availability, quality, or pricing of hardware sold by these Partners.
    • Transactions: Any transaction or purchase you make with a supplier found via Spectar is strictly between you and the third party. Mach Super is not a party to these transactions and holds no liability for shipping delays, defective products, or payment disputes.

  5. 6. Intellectual Property

    All content, algorithms, 2D and 3D generation logic, branding, and UI/UX design within the App are the exclusive property of Mach Super. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, scrape, or distribute any part of the App without express written permission.

  6. 7. Modifications of the Service and Terms

    • The App: Spectar is currently in alpha/beta. We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue features of the App at any time without prior notice.
    • The Terms: We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

  7. 8. Limitation of Liability

    To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mach Super and its creator(s) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the App.
